BIOGRAPHY

 

Gerard is Bahamian born and a eight generation citizen of The Bahamas, he graduated from Florida International University School of Architecture & Engineering in 1987 with a Bachelors in Architectural Technology. Gerard received several awards while in university and was team leader on two South Florida rehabilitation projects including a Commendation from the Mayor and The City of Miami.

 

Upon graduation, Gerard immediately relocated back to his home Nassau, Bahamas and within six months of his return initiated his own firm Higgs and Associates Limited, Architects. Within two years Gerard had driven his firm to one of the three largest in The Bahamas, by 1997 it was the largest Architectural firm in The Bahamas with thirty-eight on staff and an Interior Design division, a Construction Management Division was initiated in 1997.

 

Gerard and his related companies have had exposure to virtually every aspect of Architecture, Planning, Development and Interior Design in The Bahamas from Luxury Private Islands, Luxury Residential, Resort, Commercial, Industrial, Medical Facilities and

Multi-Family projects.
